File Download Statistics
Have an option to view statistics on files eg Number of downloads, Country of Download etc
Update: We’re rolling out the ability to see who viewed your files on the File Card on OneDrive for Business. You can hover over a file on the web to get to this. Let us know what you think!
What is the definition of procrastination - not doing anything since July 09 2015
and it is now 16th December 2016
Why are you thinking about it?
All your competitors do it?
You used to partially do it with bitly short links from which stats could be obtained but took it away!
Update please with implementation date
This should be a feature with the highest priority!
1. Total download 2. How many different downloaders 3. Date/Time when downloaded (4. the ultimate feature would be if you can leave your mail adress when downloading. The person who host the documents can now contact the downloaders. With that feature onedrive would be most successfull for projectmanagement companys/construction industry. feature 4 should be possible to disable as host. and downloaders should not be forced to leave the information.)
The statistic could be anonymous or with IP and location even with name and mail if the downloaded gets the chance to leave this information.
The lack of this feature makes the service unattractive for companys. Im working in projektmanagement business and I know a couple of companys that would pay alot more than offered for onedrive if you could just have some realiable download statistics or ultimatly that "leave contact date feature".
Stop thinking about it and DO IT before you competitives do it! It must be working till march 2017 cause of new EU tender laws. I can nearly guarantee a onedrive business contract with my company if you do it.
Hey, What's the update on the much needed feature, because it would be super useful right now?
Now you have been thinking a year... what is the result of your thinking Omar?
This is a no brainer, a must have if you will, a spiffing good idea.
I vote for stastics,

Sadly enough, MSFT has f---ed this up:
Need to know which files are being downloaded and monthly rate in order to remove files and folders not used to provide space for new data.
Yes OneDrive has it. Simply shorten the shared link; copy and paste in the address bar; add a + sign at the end of the link like http://1drv.ms/abcdefg+
Google has it... but not Microsoft???
