Back to BOX, you can search any shared folder there...
Amen to all what has been said already... I'm going to check other solutions!! Thank you for ******* off about a 150 ppl with who I share a folder, including me.
Our company is having to look at alternative file sharing solutions because of users not being able to search shared folders. When these folders contain several files, a search function seems like a basic feature that is definitely needed.
One drive. You are about to lose our company if you don't make this happen.
I swear Microsoft thinks they are gods. But you can be toppled.
We used to be able to search files shared with each other and about 2 months ago search stopped working. I was told that shared files are not searchable. I guess a glitch allowed us to search files shared with us but because that feature nolonger workers we have no choice but to look into google drive
if onedrive not provide searching in sharefolder,i can think about google drive.
make it available for searching any items existing in shared folder.
Please implement this - really frustrating that search functionality doesn't already exist for Guest Contributers

It is shocking to me that I can't find shared files - particularly since someone else has created the file structure, so I am *least* likely to be able to accurately predict where someone else has stashed the file I need.
This is madness. The search in shared files used to work perfectly for our coworkers for many months. Then one day it stopped.
We were looking for the solutions for a few weeks and now we get to know that it should have never worked in the first place..? Why?

One Drive needs to add the ability to search in shared folders. My team will have about 800 shared folders all together once we finish uploading them. Not being able to easily search for a client's folder is a huge hindrance that may lead us to use a different company's platform all together.

I too must have a search feature in One Drive shared folders. I don't see that feature anywhere. I will probably have to move everything to Google Drive or Dropbox.
In reply to K Rodriguez. If you map a network drive to your shared files with Zee Drive then you can search the files shared with you using the Zee Drive search feature accessible from the File Explorer context menu. You can find out more about Zee Drive here: http://www.thinkscape.com/Map-Network-Drives-To-Office-365-OneDrive/
Disclosure: I work for the company that develops Zee Drive

Big downside of OneDrive. Our organization is forcing us to move stuff to OneDrive and share from there, but we can’t use the search function to dig out stuff from shared folders, even on the web interface. Terrible.
Onedrive PR asked me to post this here so I am
But having search for public folders makes a lot of sense if you have very large folders
As file tags are supported (both Exif image tags, and ones you control on OneDrive) in search, this allows users to easily find a file, or multiple files under the search query
Case in point

Why this is even a limitation is stupid.
Any updates here ?

Right now if you search a filer name that has been shared with you (not by you) in the top-left search box, no result will be shown.
Because of not having this feature my company switch their OneDrive to GoogleDrive, we have one account with a lot of files that are shared to all of our employees, and they want to be able to search through all those files.
