Ability to change date of pictures
I uploaded tons of old pictures to OneDrive, and all of them were uploaded with the wrong dates, messing up my "All Photos" view.
Please, add the ability for me to change the date of those pictures, with the option to change all pictures inside an album.
Wanted to provide an update here.
First of all, if you are running into bugs (like all your photos have the same date) please reach out to support. If you’re on mobile, you can shake your device, if you’re on the web, you can use the settings cog.
As for the ability to change metadata on photos, that’s not something we currently have on the immediate roadmap.

It works still with a big mistake. I uploaded a pic yesterday, but it is date in 25 july 2050! We are not in 2050!! Pls
Is there any update on this ? It's been almost a year since the idea was submitted. I have 100+ GBs of photos backed up in onedrive and a number of them need the dates to be corrected. I'm slowly reaching my quota so I'll need to upgrade to 1TB plan. If there are no changes in functionality then I'll guess I have to move everything to Google....
In my case, it was the images captured by my phone camera, which sync to OneDrive. I walked into the same issue, and I synced all files using OneDrive app. Once, all files were on my hard drive, I wrote a C# .NET program of 20 lines, and ran it. My date issue was a thing of a past in under 10 minutes. Here is my blog post describing the story and resolution: https://wildclick.wordpress.com/2017/01/14/fix-modified-date-from-file-name/
If using the onedrive app, then you can go into file explorer, and under the onedrive folder you can then select all the files in the relevant folder. Once the multiple files have been selected, right click and select properties, then select the details tab, scroll down to the header Origin and select into the 'date taken' option. You can now amend the year or date for all selected files.

MY DATES MAKE NO SENSE AT ALL
FLICKR is the absolute best at updating metadata (tags, descriptions, Titles, and others) but since FLICKR does not offer a synchronization option, I was hoping I could use one drive to maintain my photo and video library. Yes, I can update the information on my PC and presumably, all updates will be propagated to OneDrive web, but I want to be able to update on the web and have updates to metadata propagated to my PC. Being able to do this will allow me to use my phone or tablet to make updates wherever I am rather than having to sit at my PC to do this tedious work. Please incorporate Windows Live Photo Gallery functionality into OneDrive.
Windows Live Photo Gallery had a handy feature to change date and time for pictures in batches. This is particularly handy if you forget to update to time zone on a camera when traveling. Please bring this ability to OneDrive. Probably the metadata pane could be a good place to do so.
I too have a problem with photos uploaded with the wrong date (2050 instead of 2015)
I too have issues with a series of photos dated 2024 - should be 2004. I can't see any way to correct the error.
For this and a million other little annoying reasons I will never buy a pc again, and I am replacing my new pc with a mac as soon as possible.
So for comparison (not flaming or anything) i have my Google Photos upload from my OneDrive local photos folder. I saw on Google Photos that the dates were out of order, so changed them there and it was a one two process of selecting and changing the date either all at once or relative to a date.
Rolled over to OneDrive to do the same and surprised a method of date updates aren't here. Would be lovely to have it as my vaca pictures are all messed up for a date range. I could take them off here and stick to one service, but that doesn't take away from the need of the feature.
Be nice to be able to change dates on photos, to be honest use one drive and Google as secondary storage. At present Google leaves one drive Struggling in the dust while it allows dates to be changed where one drive doesn't. My photos really im confused mess on one drive but all in order on Google. Eventually when I run out of free space on one drive I will have to decide what to do. And to be honest will not pay fora site where I cannot arrange photos in proper order. So onedrive sort yourselves out or eventually I reckon you eill loose many clients to Google or other sites.
Apple's Photos app allows the ability to edit date and time (and other EXIF data) from within the app. Why does the Windows 10 app not allow this?
Really, Microsoft, you need to address this, urgently.
My wedding photographer had wrong date set his camera and my wedding photos from 2015 show as 2008 in Onedrive.
I should be able to select multiple photos and edit their "Date Taken" property.

Hey all, I just used a PC to sync the offending photo directory locally then followed the instructions here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows-vista/change-the-date-and-time-a-picture-was-taken
A couple of my photos uploaded as being 'taken' in 2025 and 'modified' in 2008. They were actually taken in 2008, don't know how the 2025 came into it at all. Trying to find out how to redate the incorrectly dated photos, has messed up the order and I'd like to correct it.
Yes Please... I have this problem too.
I couldn't agree more with the comments below.

Please add this! I just realised the 2gb of photos I took on a holiday all have the wrong year because I must've been half asleep when updating time/date whilst travelling :(
