Add the ability to people tag
I would like the ability to tag faces on pictures that have been uploaded to OneDrive. Currently Windows Live Photo Gallery has this ability and is generally really good at guessing faces. Also, Facebook has facial recognition that is about 97% accurate.
My request is:
-add ability to group pictures by people, adding this as an option along the top row, where we currently only see "Photos Albums Tags" right now. Any untagged picture will show in 'untagged'
-add facial recognition to suggest tags for pictures
-make this facial recognition at least as good as that in Windows Live Photo Gallery
-add a grouping along the top for "Places" for our geotagged pictures.
Wanted to provide an update here: this is something we’re planning on doing, but don’t have a timeframe to share yet
Please do this if want to pull people away from Picasa/Google. I am not using Onedrive for photos purely for this reason and i'll remain loyal to Google/Picasa until Microsoft adds this feature. I use it all the time and it's exceptionally handy when you need to find photos of certain people.
Restoring Support for Windows Photo Gallery would be an even better move.....
Other apps already have this option. Make it happen quikly
adding this feature takes long because the photos experience is part of onedrive and making changes to this should not affect the other and a lot of testing has to be done to ensure that.. and since deployment is a pain the features are bundles into major releases.
One solution to this is decoupling photos from onedrive. This will allow for dedicated developers to the photos experience and faster release cycles.
every body have it!! dropbox, facebook, google drive....
why don't you make one in onedrive????
cant fined picture by texting a name.

Add some type of engine which tags faces of different people automatically. I have around 138gb of photos on one drive. If you can show unique faces as a list and I click on any face, then all related photos and videos of the person should group and display separately.
I want to store all my photos in the OneDrive cloud. A face recognition algorithm would be great that allows to filter for persons
This would be the perfect feature. I need it! Why is it taking so long!
1. Recongnize faces from photos
2. And create folders for each people like Google Photo does!

I'd like to suggest that why not add a face recognition feature in Onedrive.com, OneDrive for Android, IOS, Windows etc. This would be a great feature and we can search people and photos very easily.

Ain't this a duplicate for https://onedrive.uservoice.com/forums/262982-onedrive/suggestions/11310762-face-tagging ?
Completely agree. Google Plus has this feature today and it is remarkably helpful in sifting through thousands of photos.
I Think That There Should Be Face Recognition Feature So That There Is no Trouble To Find A specific Person Picture In the Drive I Request You to add This Feature .
This would be a great feature! Please add to allow another photo management option. With Picasa out of the mix, I would hate to switch to Google, but if this feature is not added I might have no choice.
I have been scrolling through my people tag for almost 15 minutes trying to find the person I was looking for and still have not found them. I was shown a screenshot of Google photos' sorting, and their people tag gave a small thumbnail of every person's face who was inside the larger subfolder. The person can pick an individual's face and look through photos pertaining to only that individual. In order to improve the long times spent finding certain people, I suggest implementing something similar where the user can pick from a set of faces that were sorted from the pictures.

Google photos still years ahead of OneDrive.... It's a pity I don't have it in my Windows phone
Are you still thinking about it or are you already implementing this feature?
This is how inconvenient this has made my life... I auto-upload all photos from my Lumia to OneDrive Camera Roll. I've then chosen to sync this OneDrive folder to the local C:\ drive on my desktop computer. From there, this folder is then used by the "Google Photos Backup" utility to upload everything into Google (where I can actually view photos based on the people in them.) Once I find the photos I am looking for, I must then go back to OneDrive and find the "Original quality" images for printing, etc.
Google drive does this automatically and we need to catch up. I only convinced my neighbor to use OneDrive due to privacy. Googs auto albums is a big compete issue for msft.
