Add the ability to people tag
I would like the ability to tag faces on pictures that have been uploaded to OneDrive. Currently Windows Live Photo Gallery has this ability and is generally really good at guessing faces. Also, Facebook has facial recognition that is about 97% accurate.
My request is:
-add ability to group pictures by people, adding this as an option along the top row, where we currently only see "Photos Albums Tags" right now. Any untagged picture will show in 'untagged'
-add facial recognition to suggest tags for pictures
-make this facial recognition at least as good as that in Windows Live Photo Gallery
-add a grouping along the top for "Places" for our geotagged pictures.
Wanted to provide an update here: this is something we’re planning on doing, but don’t have a timeframe to share yet
I really like the People Tag feature in Windows Photo Gallery. I have spent considerable time ensuring that the People Tags have been added accurately to my photos. I do like that the People tag data is written to the XMP Metadata of the file. Seeing Microsoft Project Oxford - https://www.projectoxford.ai I am confident that this feature will improve on. That said, I do hope that in any future product the Face Recognition data is kept within the file.

This can be an extremely competitive advantage over GoogleDrive since they already have it. They can tag by email, so that the email's user can receive notification email which say "They are mentioned in a file", "Mr. Anderson mentioned them in a file and allowed you to edit/view it"...
It would be great if OneDrive was able to automatically tag people in photos. Facebook does this I think. And Windows Live gallery used to do it
THIS. I'm so frustrated with OneDrive's automatic tagging.
Add face tagging
Let us remove auto-generated tags from groups of photos.
Let us add tags in groups of photos.
Overall, simplify tagging, and don't make assumptions for the user (or at least let us opt out.) I spend so much time deleting default tags.

Google Picasa does not save the face tags to the photos as every other facial recognition software does, it keeps them in a local database. Hard luck. Dump it for Windows Live Photo Gallery.
I've got 70gb of old photos which I first facially recognised with Google picasa then redid the whole lot with windows photo gallery and still the tags haven't come through to my OneDrive... Is there a fault with pre existing photos not updating their tags??

I can dig into a photo and see a people tags I created in Windows Live Photo Gallery. I can't seem to add people tags or search on them. It would be nice to read that info in too for searching and organizing.
I want to be able to do this in OneDrive: from all my photos Show me the photos where I am together with my son. And only from last year.
When you use the face detection of the photo Gallery application or when you manually tag a face on a photo, this Information is saved in the exif file properties. Please add unter "#Persons" also filters based on the Persons which were already marked.
With other words, add the excellent filtering Options from the (Live)Photo Gallery application
Using facial recognition on WLPG forces all the photos to be downloaded from OneDrive to your local computer. Ideally I'm looking for a web service to provide the same functionality as WLPG without downloading locally on the computer.

This feature currently exists in the Windows Photo Gallery http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-live/photo-gallery. Once a photo is tagged the tag will sync to OneDrive.
I know that's not exactly what you are asking for but it is a good stop-gap solution in the meantime.
Automatically tag people based on face recognition (like in MacOS)
