Microsoft NEEDS to FIX Onedrive so that files reflect their last modified date/time, not the upload date/time. This causes many problems when trying to search files from a specif date.
I don't get it. I am synching my local copy of files to OneDrive. I am NOT modifying my file. I am creating a copy of the file on OneDrive. The Modified date should be the same as on my local copy. Please, at least, give an option to retain Modified date.
When you host a user's files in the clouds the one thing you must absolutely do at all cost is to maintain data integrity. When you destroy or randomly reassign file dates you have committed the most unforgiveable sin of hosting data --not merely failing to keep the user's data insecure, but actually being responsible for the corruption of that data.
I don't know whether this is one of the worst program bugs I've seen in some time, or else atrocious program design, but it is an absolute breach of trust with the users and as such is completely intolerable.
Several projects depend on correct file dates. I am looking for alternative cloud solutions for the bulk of my files because I am in danger of missing deadlines for having to spend time searching for workarounds for a corrupt and broken system. Like others here, I don't have the luxury of someone having a cavalier attitude about data integrity. Please show the character and fortitude to fix this at once. It is just that serious. The integrity of both the creation date and the modified date should be maintained at all cost.
Please fix this modified date issue or give at least the oportunity to choose or enabled/disable this. Just removed all my pictures again from OneDrive as it's useless having my album from 2015 with a current timestamp. Like this OneDrive for older pictures is useless.
that is a big issue - please fix that to last modified

I agree - If you have a neutral file Name and all 3 file dates are wrong in the Meta data, you'll have problems to find your photos.
I agree - Date Modified should be date modified not copied, moved or created etc.
