Implement a folder tree like Google Drive. It would make navigating and moving files around much easier.
I'm surprised this isn't already a feature. Clicking through folder labels to get to where I want to go is irritating. It'd be much better to expand a folder tree and go right where I need to. We need a navigation pane for a more friendly UI experience.
Wanted to provide an update here: this is something we’re planning on doing, but don’t have a timeframe to share yet
il y a bcp de difficultés à ouvrir les transferts envoyés par mes correspondants .la moitié partent ds le vent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand how this isn't already implemented either. Can we do it, OneDrive gods? Please? :D
Is there a strategic reason for Microsoft NOT to implement the directory tree? I never met a user who was not surprised that this functionality is not a standard functionality.
(sorry I appear as 'Anonym' with my long comment. I didnt intend, and actually my status at top is 'stay signed in'...?
Good that this suggestion has many votes, and is noticed by Microsoft...! I agree with comments. I guess you are aware of the importance, and has some production and implementing time... anyway, its actually hard to figure out why your so high profiles OneDrive, with 1 Tb capacity, has so limitied funktionality compared with working on your own harddrive using file-threes, subfolders etc. etc.
If you want OneDrive to be people new online drive, then start with a functionality that is similar to Windows Explorer -and now when this hasnt happened, I hope it is so very high at ýour priority list, so it will be launched in very near future! :-)
Dont get me wrong: I am a through many years satisfied and happy windows-, office-, outlook- etc. user, and I just want microsoft solutions to be as good and workable as possible! And here is a major field where OneDrive miss functionality! Massive!
So shortly put: You like us to use OneDrive as main storage, right? Make the OneDrive folder on the computers desktop syncronize with no limitations, smooth, with all subfolders, all documents, as long file-path's as on the computer, regardless of zip-files, 'no administrator rigths' for documents, etc. etc. etc. and keep uploading and syncronizing the lokal OneDrive to the OneDrive-in-the-sky no matter if the internetconnection is broken (then just continue uploading where it stopped). Let OneDrive-in-the-sky be working exactely as a folder on our desktop! THEN it will be workable, usefull and with less need to go to Dropbox etc. (because they can make this work today). Just to say :-)
So keep up the good work at microsoft! I still love your products and windows 10! <3 ;-)
Best regards Peter
Hi, an old post, but as a new OneDrive user I'd love to see this too. I really miss Google Drive for this reason :)

Completely agree NEED this! I frequently use certain folders in my onedrive that can be 3 folders or more deep from top level. If you don't want our a workaround could be to pin favorite folders for onedrive Web just like the quick access pin in Windows 10. I can take two minutes for one drive to load each page and me navigate into the folder I need before I can get to work.
the last three years i had p-c again after 20 years for my studies i follow a way of road or a tree my steps more than 10 ours spending to learn and joy home with my P/C ,my way....christos papavasiou.

Microsoft had this feature before but took it away due to consumer confusion.
I think the confusion is easy to get around.
Just use a cloud icon instead of a folder icon for items that are online only. For items that are both on the cloud and on the PC do a hybrid folder-cloud icon.
Please reimplement ASAP. Thanks!!

How can I do that folder tree structure?
Really?!?! Microsoft has known that this feature has convenience value since at least WINDOWS 3.1 http://muegge.com/images/blogimages/0018_screeshot002.png

It looks like this one has enough votes, don't you think? I mean if you check "Boom it's done" category, I don't see "too much" 1500+ votes. Folder structure is crucial, please add this into Ring 1 ;-)

better file copying/moving would improve things. why dont you have a choice of UIs for this? I use classic shell on windows 8/10 because i like the older style menu systems, having a choice of UI is the way to go
If onedrive wants to actually compete w/ GDrive, then a hierarchical folder structure is essential. I was pushing for O365 initially, but every feature that is added seems half cooked. This again is another perfect example. Google seems like a much better option for my school as o365 keeps adding more and more fluff but ignoring core functionality.

Yes, the web UX in particular just gets in the way of basic navigation. Windows for Work Groups was easier to navigate than OneDrive.
