Wanted to provide an update here: this is something we’re planning on doing, but don’t have a timeframe to share yet
This has been too long now. We really need this. With more than 400 GB of data we really need to narrow down results by folder

If the Windows operating system for PCs could not do this, it would be eliminated from the marketplace. This should be a priority for Onedrive. Hierarchical knowledge organization is a critical component of human organization and thinking. As it is, to run effective searches of my Onedrive cloud based information and eliminate spurious responses, I need to download to my PC and use Windows. Why not simply duplicate the advanced search features in Outlook or Windows? Robert
this is ridiculous. beyond an oversight; its a fundamental failure of the whole cloud concept and functionality.
When you open a folder and want to search a file, one drive searches all the data that you have in cloud. its ok but could be better if there was an option to search only the current opened folder you are woking with.
I think the facility to search written text in documents is brilliant. It's a digital filing cabinet!
However, I'd like to put all my letters into folders such as Nov 2015, Dec 2015 etc.
And if I am looking for a particular letter, say from Microsoft, I can search on OneDrive in that folder only for 'Microsoft' and be displayed results only from that folder.
At the moment, if I try and search for something, it searches ALL of OneDrive which is pointless.
Provide the option to search a specific folder not the entire cloud
