  1. File Limit Makes OneDrive and SharePoint Worthless

We are currently using Google Drive and DropBox to share files on our devices. We have Office 365, so we thought we would try OneDrive, but the two reasons it will never work are:

    1. File/Folder Limits are too low
    2. SharePoint integration

Google Drive is so much easier to setup, you don't have to deal with something complex like SharePoint for something so simple, and you aren't handcuffed by file/folder limitations.

As it currently stands, OneDrive is worse than worthless - we wasted our time even trying it out.

It also seems the sync client is not nearly as…

  2. Password Protection For Shared OneDrive objects should extend to Windows File Explorer.

Password Protected Objects in OneDrive should have protection extended to when that object is viewed in Windows File Explorer. Presently, as of 11/14/2019, it is the design of OneDrive to allow Password Protection on Shared folders. As long as the shared & protected object is viewed in a browser then a password prompt secures the object. However, if that object is Added To My OneDrive (aka viewable within Windows 10 File Explorer) then the password prompt goes away while access to the content remains. This is a security flaw in my opinion and not a feature. Microsoft support confirmed that…

  4. Download shared files without sign-up

Currently, files can only be viewed, not downloaded without a OneDrive about when shared. That's a real hybrids given the amount of people who are NOT in OneDrive. Sharing becomes almost a useless feature that way as you can't keep asking people to sign up just to be able to receive your shares!

  5. Provide option to NOT share specific Office files (xlsm specifically) via VBA on OneDrive business

I have complex, macro-enabled Excel (xlsm) files that work fine on OneDrive for Business as long as the "Use Office application to sync Office files that I open" is NOT checked in the OneDrive settings. The Office sync functionality and ability to work collaboratively is great, but it doesn't work with my (and others as I found while searching for my issue) workbooks. The file has backup and save macros and slows down immensely and throws strange errors for my clients ("High service activity", "File wasn't uploaded because we cannot merge change made by another user" when there is only…

  6. Have the ability to consolidate the entire OneDrive space included in Office 365 Familly into a single OneDrive space.

Thus, we could use the 6To included even if the 6 Office shares licences are not used.
One could consider that the administrators could allocate space quotas for shared Office accounts or use the 6To with the whole family without restriction (a bit like one would do with a NAS).

  7. Sharing excel file by embedding with disabling download link

I want to share an excel file by embedding links with the users with facility only to see and and edit the file but are not able to download file. I have tried it through onedrive embed facility, but users are able to download the file through open workbook online facility. However, while creating embed link on onedrive, onedrive asks whether to prevent downloading the file, but it is of no use, because the same link is always available on right hand side of the file when it is opened online by the user.
It is requested to the team…

  8. OneDrive for Business Client - Allow User the ability to add folders to 'Shared'

Currently the 'Shared with Me' folder data is presented from backend auto-index.
Users can Remove Docs and Folders from the View - but cannot ADD folders.
We need control to ADD and set folders in the 'Shared' view.

  10. Fix the different behaviour for the Web interface and Mobile apps for shared and "Added to my OneDrive" folders

When the shared by others folder with Edit permissions is "Added to my OneDrive", the view of this folder from the "Files" location allows you to RENAME the folder. The mobile app (both iOS and Android) manages to revert the folder's name back to the original (since it belongs to another user/account), but the Web interface (and respectively, the sync engine) keeps showing the re-named folder in "Files", while in "Shared" tab it looks as original. To avoid the confusion, the option "RENAME" should be removed from the shared folders, that were added to my OneDrive, if it is not…

  11. Public (without logging in) upload to a shared folder

Make it possible to create a share forlder with Bill, send the link to him at bill@gates.com and let Bill just click on the link and upload/create files to that folder without signing. Folders could also be password protected so that Bill needs to know that to access the share.

  12. Enable commenting of Office files in the OneDrive Details panel same way as non-Office files

Enable commenting of Office files in the OneDrive Details panel in the same way as non-Office files

The recently released feature "Comments on non-Office Files" (Roadmap ID 16617) is excellent. But bafflngly, it does not support commenting - or even seeing the comments - of Office files without opening the document.

Please make this consistent, so that all files - both Office and non-Office - may be commented in OneDrive in the same way; or at least so that comments in Office files would show in OneDrive (at the moment, there's only a version history note saying that the file…

  14. New option: keep local file

During a reconnection, if OneDrive can not synchonize a file, it renames the local file by adding the name of the PC and adds the cloud file. Add an option to do the opposite: keep the local file and add the cloud version by adding "-OneDrive"

  15. Extending B2B SharePoint Library Content Sync to Non-O365 Organizations (or) Users

    Hello Team,

It is great that Microsoft has introduced the B2B sync for recipients from O365 account holders. It would be great if this can be extended to any External User - like the users from Microsoft Account (gmail.com, outlook.com domain users) that are not on O365/Azure AD.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Bhanu

  16. Hide, Remove, or Disable Shared Libraries in OneDrive

I have hidden a SharePoint Library, however it can be viewed on the Shared Libraries section of OneDrive. How do I disable this? The hidden library should not be viewed by users at all. Ale so, the default SharePoint view set to show no items in the library is not what shows when the library is accessed from OneDrive. All files can be viewed in OneDrive which should not be the case. I will accept any workaround anyone may have, but there should be uniformity in how files and data are configured across applications.

  17. Multiple unique share links for a file

We would like the ability to create multiple randomized public download links for a single file. Each link can have its own separate password or link expiration.

This would allow you to control access to a file to individuals not a part of your organization through different links, instead of creating a single link with global permissions for everybody.

It also opens up the door for other features, such as limiting the number of downloads and notifying a user that a file has been downloaded while still being able to share with multiple people.

  18. 'Shared by Me' - add column to identify who the file is shared to / export feature

OneDrive for Business: we need to see who files are shared with without having to select each individual file and click into Manage...
Suggestions: Add a column to the view; include an export feature to view file access rights en masse (we have a ton of shared files and have urgent needs to removed shared file access to employees who have left the organization but retain Office 365 rights)

  19. Emailing from OneDrive

It would be nice to have an option of emailing all the people you're sharing a folder with - a kind of one email that all of them will receive but don't see other recipients.

In my case, I need to notify them of upcoming changes both to the file and to their ability to access them.
