Allow External Users to Upload File within Forms
After trying to talk to the MS Forms Team since the start of COVID-19, many users have been requesting the ability to allow external users to upload files within an MS Forms context. From my understanding that this is a technical issue with how access works within OneDrive/SharePoint that limits the ability to allow external users to upload files. This request has been in the works since April of 2017. An update in December of 2019 released the ability for internal users only. There has been no update since phase one of the feature.
I would like to ask the OneDrive/SharePoint Development to allow External User (Anonymous) user to save to files from file upload question within the MS Form context.
As it stands, the only way to use MS Forms as a tool to for external user collaboration needs (which could include using MS Forms for quizzes where an essay can upload, gathering content from a client request, any sort of external ticket submission, etc.), is to create a third party form that allows file uploads from anonymous sources (like Google) and then use another third party automation/connector service (like Zapier) to grab the file and save it to an OneDrive/SharePoint location.
Below is a link to the issue on the MS Form UserVoice page. This is the number one feature request which has almost double the votes of the second-highest requested feature. This feature has the interest of not only US customers, but other global customers, ranging from Business, Governmental, and Educational tenant accounts. This is a real need and many customers are very upset that this highly-requested feature has been given no priority for over 10 months.
Please, someone, work on this from the development side.
