Sharing files/folders to a Group does not show up in users "Shared with me" folder.
When sharing a file or folder to an Office 365 Group, the users do not receive an invitation email and they can only access the shared files/folders via a URL link. These shares do not show up under their "Shared with Me" folder. This really defeats the purpose of sharing with a group. The idea is to make sharing with large numbers of users easier. Set up a group, then share with them. Please fix this.
Good suggestion. Working on it…
"This is something we’ll look at as part of improvements to the Shared with Me view"
I rather see this being fixed in one of the bughunting itarations!
Share a folder with a group, and it's not visible in the "Shared with me" and the users aren't notified. Looks like a bug to me.
I cannot believe that this feature has not been developed. Like the feature request, what is the point of the folder if you cannot see what is "Shared with me". We want to share with groups all the time but having this feature missing just make it so much harder.

We really need this functionality, we could give up our network drives and dropbox and make use of sharepoint instead if the group function simply put these folders into everyones onedrives!
Absolutely insane that this isn't a function.
This is an urgent and a must have capability. What is the point of sharing feature if one can not share it with a group (Security or Office 365 Group ) that already exist? Google Drive can do this without any problem.
i'm working in a schooboard in quebec and i'm very disapointed about the group security not showing in "share with me" option.
really bad microsoft. with 5000 employes and 32000 students, its just impossible to think how the nested group security has been ignored.
You need to seriously get your act together on this. Also why can't you share files or folder between accounts outwith your company? Google drive doesn't care who you work for they just care that you want to share info between one or more parties and allow it to happen. Really disappointed in you Microsoft. I'd have expected better!
I completely agree with all of the posts here, this is STUPID!!! Seriously MicroSoft, get it together.

This is both counterproductive and counter-intuitive. I would expect Microsoft to understand collaborative working spaces better than this. Sharepoint is not new, Outlook is not new and online file sharing is not new either.

+1 for this future. It took three hours only to find out, sharing a folder with AD security group does NOT display the shared items under "Shared with Me" object.

I'm surprised this does not have more votes too. I work in a university environment and all the students and faculty are members security groups and distribution lists synced to AzureAD. Everyone would like to share files or folders in ODFB and have the appear the group members "Shared with Me" folder as well as send a link.

I'm amazed this doesn't have more votes. This would make an easy cutover for places that are used to assigned team folders through network shares.

We need to be able to open Group Files in the iOS and Android Apps
It would be as easy as you told.
I could Create a Distribution groups, share a folder with this group.
It would be useful if the sharing folder can be followed.
