Sharing files/folders to a Group does not show up in users "Shared with me" folder.
When sharing a file or folder to an Office 365 Group, the users do not receive an invitation email and they can only access the shared files/folders via a URL link. These shares do not show up under their "Shared with Me" folder. This really defeats the purpose of sharing with a group. The idea is to make sharing with large numbers of users easier. Set up a group, then share with them. Please fix this.
Good suggestion. Working on it…
I completely agree with all of the posts here, this is STUPID!!! Seriously MicroSoft, get it together.

This is both counterproductive and counter-intuitive. I would expect Microsoft to understand collaborative working spaces better than this. Sharepoint is not new, Outlook is not new and online file sharing is not new either.

+1 for this future. It took three hours only to find out, sharing a folder with AD security group does NOT display the shared items under "Shared with Me" object.

I'm surprised this does not have more votes too. I work in a university environment and all the students and faculty are members security groups and distribution lists synced to AzureAD. Everyone would like to share files or folders in ODFB and have the appear the group members "Shared with Me" folder as well as send a link.

I'm amazed this doesn't have more votes. This would make an easy cutover for places that are used to assigned team folders through network shares.

We need to be able to open Group Files in the iOS and Android Apps
It would be as easy as you told.
I could Create a Distribution groups, share a folder with this group.
It would be useful if the sharing folder can be followed.
