Last week we announced a new feature called Personal Vault that will be available soon for OneDrive consumer accounts. See this blog post for more details.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2019/06/25/onedrive-personal-vault-added-security-onedrive-additional-storage/

We have no plans to bring Personal Vault to our Commercial customers at this time, but continue to make investments in advanced security features that are unique to the Commercial service.

  2. When deleting and O365 Buisness user, make it easy to move the files/folders to another user.

When an employee that uses OneDrive for Business leaves the organization there should be an option to move their files to another employee (superior, replacement, temporary, etc.).

Instead of having to download and then reupload the files to another user, it should be an option during the user deletion to move the files.

We recently added the ability to transfer ownership to another user when deleting a user’s account from AAD from the M365 admin portal. If no entry is provided, the default will transfer to the manager. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/retention-and-deletion

The manager or newly assigned owner will have the ability to sync that content or download and then move to a shared library or their own OneDrive.

  4. Ability for OneDrive Admins to Flag Folders as "Do Not Sync"

Ability for OneDrive Administrators to flag some folders in individual users cloud based OneDrive for Business libraries as “do not sync” so that the end-user cannot check them in the Next Gen Sync Client (NGSC) for synchronization to their local machine. The NGSC should honor that attribute and show the folder as “greyed out” – possibly with a hover over pop-up message stating that the folder cannot be synchronized locally because of IT policy.

Options should be available for bulk application to all users OneDrive folders by specifying a folder name (or folder name pattern) to be flagged as non-synchronizable,…

  5. Block Up/Downloading Specific File Types

The "OneDrive for Business Deny List of File Types for Sync" feature was recently released, however it prevents files from being uploaded only when using the OneDrive Sync client. The same files can still be uploaded using the Web View. This means Administrators STILL DON'T have the ability to define a list of file types that will be actively blocked from up/downloading, while Microsoft if claiming so.

  6. Admin Controls for OD4B Sync for total space consumed on PC

We need the ability to control the total amount or % of space consumed on a PC device when sync'ing OD4B content. We are seeing where a user may have a large amount of data in OD4B (1TB+) and on laptops and surface devices this will consume all the available space. Controls that can be managed by the Administrator to limit the amount of space or the ability to sync only the tree structure (like on IOS) is required.

Can you please tell us more about what you are looking for? What do you mean by “zero knowledge cloud storage”? Thank you.

  8. Encryption at rest for personal onedrive

Please please enable encryption at rest for personal onedrive accounts too. This is the only thing missing here. I will be forced to move to Dropbox if encryption at rest is not available for onedrive personal

  10. Transfer ownership of a shared folder

How to transfer the ownership of a shared folder? I created and shared one, and want to leave all the files with my friend and disconnect myself from the folder. I want her to become the owner (the folder becoming a natural part of her OneDrive collection). How do I (or we) do that ?

  12. Shares expiration after X days for all sharing levels (Public, New External, Existing External, ...)

    Hello everyone,

For security reasons, I think it would be interesting to be able to limit all the shares proposed by OneDrive in time.

Today, we can define the number of days after which a share expires only when we configure OneDrive to the most permissive level: Share with everyone.

Why not allow this expiration notion for other levels of sharing?

  13. Allow OneDrive KFM to work with folder redirected folders

Currently (OneDrive client version 18.131.0701.004) Known Folder Migration will not work with known folders that have been redirected. When this is configured, the end user sees "The <folder name> folder contains other important folders and isn't supported for file protection". It seems to want all known folders to be located in their default, local location (C:\Users<username>\folder) and will not migrate/redirect if they're already being redirected.

The overwhelming majority of enterprise (and smaller) orgs do not store data on local workstations, and I don't see any use case for KFM because of this limitation.

  14. Increase the filesize limit up to 100GB/File

Microsoft, please increase the OneDrive filesize limit to a much higher size!

The current filesize Limit is not up-to-date!

  15. Pooled Storage option for OneDrive Premium Users.

5 TB total, 1 TB per person is great....but my wife and I share a Premium account. We have 1 heavily used account and 4 at 0% utilization. We share an account to centralize our pictures make for easier search and management of our files. Please give the option to pool the storage so we can take full advantage of the storage available to our account.

  16. Increase the free storage

Giving only 5 GB for free on OneDrive is the worst idea. Google Drive offers 15 GB for free then why Microsoft's OneDrive doesn't? If 15 GB is not possible then give at least 10 GB of free storage! 5 GB is not sufficient for any one. Also Google Drive offers unlimited photos and videos upload on high quality, OneDrive also compromises in that part too! So sad to see how world's most richest man consume his money on his own fans & customers.

  18. Add the possibility to add an AzureAD domain to the specific domain list for synchronization

We would like to see the option to add AzureAD to the specific domain list, now it's only possible to add on-premise domains, but now with Intune and only azure-ad joined machines I think it would be a nice change. We use SCCM Co-management and Intune. The computers are not on-premise joined but we would like a restriction on what machines OneDrive can be synchronized. To make it work now the only option is to disable the specific domain sync but than we would lose control on what machines the synchronization can be made.

  20. SilentConfig

As an enterprise administrator, I want to deploy OneDrive with absolutely ZERO user interaction.

Following https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/use-group-policy?redirectSourcePath=%252fen-us%252farticle%252fUse-Group-Policy-to-control-OneDrive-sync-client-settings-0ecb2cf5-8882-42b3-a6e9-be6bda30899c we are able to setup OneDrive for our corporate users without them having to enter anything, when combined with odopen://sync/?useremail=youruseremail@<mySSOdomain>.com which will SSO the user into OneDrive. However the user still receives a window where they have to hit 3 buttons -"Sign-in”, “Next”, “Open my OneDrive…”.

As an Enterprise deployment, I would like to avoid prompting the users for anything. I understand this is probably expected behavior, but it is not in line with Microsoft practices of supporting completely silent installation and configuration so…
