OneDrive Notification when Freezing for Inactivity
It would be nice to receive a notification when you are about to freeze my OneDrive account for inactivity. Moreover, I was using it. The app is installed on my phone and my laptop. I have files stored, that I some times look at. I suspect you consider me inactive just because I did not change the contents of the folder, but that doesn't mean I am not using it.
I was reinstalling my OS, and when I tried to login to the OneDrive app, it said I have to go to the website. The website told me that my account it frozen, but did not tell me why. I just guessed that it was inactivity.
Again, there was no email, or other notice that I could see. If I didn't reinstall my OS until the same time next year, I would have lost all my files on OneDrive.
The usual Microsoft incompetence.
I've just experienced the same thing while moving my mum to a new laptop - she has the app installed and uses the folders for document storage all the time. Do Microsoft define inactivity as not logging in via a browser for a year?
If a competent email warning was sent she would have seen it and asked me about it. I can only assume that if one was sent, it went straight to junk as it was badly constructed.
When managing my mum's laptop I give regular thanks for the fact I have a Mac and don't have to go through all the frequent windows pain on my own machine.

There's no way to edit my previous comment and I left out the most important part, it said my account would have been automatically deleted in 2 months.
"While you were away, your account was frozen. Unfreeze your account by June 11, 2019 to avoid automatic deletion."

The same thing happened to me. I can't believe OneDrive froze my account without telling me. I log in to Microsoft services literally all the time. Dropbox doesn't freeze my account due to inactivity. I just don't use the OneDrive service much but I have used it in the past to share files and of course I have those files still on the drive.
Please end this practice of 1-year inactivity suspensions. And if for some reason you can't do that then the least you could do is send me an e-mail asking me if I'm still using the account and then I could say yes and everything would be fine.
