Secure transfer of data between Office365 and organisational EMS products.
The current pandemic has lead to a great increase in the number of company employees remote working. Typically a company has an Enterprise Management System using Office365 as its office productivity suite and they are not integrated. While within the company's physical and IT security the risk of transferring files between these systems is manageable.
Now that is not the case, employees are working remotely on company or privately owned PCs and often the only way to transfer a file from Onedrive to the EMS is by the worker downloading it to their local hard drive and then uploading it from the hard drive into the EMS. There does not seem to be a generic Onedrive solution to this potentially insecure method of transferring data.
I would like to know if MS has a solution that I simply have not come across yet
or has recognised the need and is working on one.
From my, non-technical perspective, I am wondering if it would be possible to ensure that any transfer of data through a remote/homeworker PC could be made to take place through a RAM drive to ensure no image was left on the local machine?
