  1. allow users to merge two or more Onedrive account

You can add/merge multiple accounts in one place, so you can use all data which is available on different onedrive account, at one place. No need to log-in in every account. but user must get sum of all accounts storage space in one place.

  2. Allow creating "direct download" flavour links when sharing a file

Allow creating a shared link for a file, which can be send to a user via email (for instance) and user can download the file by using the link even from a computer without the need of using any Microsoft office account/api.
To be clear, sharing files without any restriction, a "direct link" flavour.
It's working as expected for a zip file for instance, probably because Microsoft cannot open it, so it lets you to download the file.
But for a word file, Office Online is opened in the browser when clicking on the link.
    The behavior I'm looking for…

  3. Enable MKV Videos Streaming on OneDrive

I have been a Windows user for 3 years now & I Have 1TB of One Drive storage as part of Office 365 subscription. Nowadays most of the 1080p HD videos are in (MKV) format, But In One Drive we cannot play MKV format (App/Browser).

So can you Please enable MKV format Video streaming support like other cloud storage (ex: google drive) in OneDrive.

So that we can use 1TB storage very effectively.

    Happy Windows User,
    Sundar

  4. Develop a WD My Cloud App for OneDrive

Please create a WD My Cloud app to be deployed on WD NAS similar to dropbox and elephantdrive aaps. A full list of apps for WD can be found here:
    https://support.wdc.com/knowledgebase/answer.aspx?ID=16513

This will help to automatically synchronize data between local NAS and OneDrive storage.

    Thanks,
    Naqvi

  5. Support MD5 checksum

Other cloud service providers provide MD5 checksum values (Google, Amazon, etc). By providing MD5 checksums (in addition sha1 and crc32), you allow developers to compare file integrity when importing or exporting to/from OneDrive.

  6. Add command line switches to pause and resume syncing.

Please add to Onedrive command line switches to pause and resume syncing.
    Why?
Some programs create, delete or rename many files at the same time. When Onedrive jumps in to do an update in the middle of this process, It either hangs up or creates duplicate files. At present, the only way for developers to avoid these problems is to use the API function suspendthread. It works but it is not a good solution. If you would add command line switches /pause and /resume it would be much better.

  7. .onedriveignore, an ignore file like git

    gitignore for OneDrive

Add a .onedriveignore file to the OneDrive folder (global) in which you can specify files/folder to ignore.

    Do the same for subfolders.

This would allow easy syncing of Visual Studio projects for example, as currently the application just syncs non stop if you open a solution file that has it's data stored with OneDrive.

  8. Support wildcards in redirect_uri

    x.mysite.com and y.mysite.com are for 2 of my customers: x and y.
And I get new customers a, b, c, etc without my intervention.
As of now, I have to add by hand a.mysite.com/onedrive in redirect_uri app settings for every new customer and it is painful.

  9. Include TAGS in API

OneDrive adds a number of Tags against a photo like, Beach, Cat, ...
When querying meta data against a Photo, it would be great to also include these TAGS.

  10. Add custom properties to files in OneDrive (personal/live)

For the OneDrive consumer version it is currently not availlabe to add customer file data (other than tags and comments). For a new app we would like to store some additional metadata for the files that are uploaded.
We would recommend the same approach as https://developers.google.com/drive/v2/reference/properties/insert

  11. API access to Albums

I want to be able to access, read and edit a user's Albums via the OneDrive API.

I am talking about the Albums which are not folders and were announced in January 2015. https://blog.onedrive.com/introducing-an-all-new-way-to-view-manage-and-share-your-photos-in-onedrive/

  12. OneDrive client for Linux, please!

Hi! When will Microsoft create a OneDrive client for Linux? It would be so very useful for millions of people all over the World - and to pupils, students and teachers in particular. #OneDriveforLinux #MicrosoftLovesLinux

  14. Make Files.ReadWrite.AppFolder work with OneDrive for Business Accounts

Our app requires the ability to insert files into users' OneDrive accounts. Currently it only works for personal OneDrive accounts and that prevents us from using this functionality at all.

This has forced us to ask for more powerful permissions than we need.

  15. Scrolling

Instead of having to flick to scroll, can you create a button on the side to scroll quickly thru the files like Google Photos?

Also it would be nice if OneDrive camera roll would remember where you left off when scrolling if you switch back to the app

  16. Do you have any plan to release a Java Client API for new OneDrive API?

It's great that you provide the RESTful API, but do you have any plan to release a Java Client API for the new version of OneDrive API which released in Feb'15? Or do you already have an option? I am not talking about the Android SDK.

  17. Document how file attributes are used by OneDrive Files On Demand

People developing applications and scripts that interact with files stored on OneDrive would benefit from understanding how to get/set the OneDrive status (online-only, locally available, always available) from code. This is currently almost completely undocumented. Reverse-engineering (see for instance https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/375f3933-fcab-450c-bb9c-da54155549e2/how-do-i-getset-onedrive-files-on-demand-status-from-powershell?forum=ITCG or https://superuser.com/questions/1214542/what-do-new-windows-8-10-attributes-mean-no-scrub-file-x-integrity-v-pinn/1287315) is not the way to go!

  18. OneDrive for Business and OneDrive for Consumers should share a hashing algorithm

Currently ODB supports QuickXorHash, while ODC supports SHA1 and CRC32. There should be at least one hash that is common across both of the services.

  19. Stop bypassing EFS encryption and upload Encrypted files as encrypted

When OneDrive uploads a file that has been encrypted with EFS (Encrypted File System), it uploads the unencrypted version of the file. It is obviously inappropriate to upload encrypted files in plaintext ESPECIALLY for a cloud provider.

A simple fix is to respect the EFS encryption of files and use the existing APIs to upload the RAW encrypted data, allowing users to encrypt sensitive files that are still encrypted in transit and at rest on OneDrive servers.

For example, you can use these API calls to get access to the encrypted contents:

The way you open an encrypted file in…

  20. Files On-Demand on OneDrive in Windows 10 & Mac

One thing that I do suggest is that we (users) can be allowed to choose whether by double clicking the file (on cloud/available in PC as an on-demand file) in our OneDrive Local Folder will download the file or just use double click to download the file (which is the current option). That is the problem when I use the file on-demand lately. I know that by right clicking the file we would get an option to view it online/always keep on this device, (or if the file is created in the local folder, free up space). It's just that…
