Interestingly viewing photos or images via the files tab seems to work OK in using the embedded EXIF data if available, then defaulting to the created/modified date.
MS should introduce a sort mode like the Web View to select date taken, modified, etc.
Agreed that the current method is completely useless for viewing photos by date taken.
MS should fix this ASAP as most other Cloud providers have a product that works.
This is even more important for the camera roll. If you get a new phone and copy or transfer images and/or the SD card from the old phone, Onedrive will automatically upload all the images as duplicates. Surely there must be a way to avoid this?
Please add this feature back. It is frustrating that this has been removed. Social media videos are usually small, but hi-def videos are hundreds of megabytes so please bring back the option to be able to select how photos and videos are uploaded 'separately'.
Latest version 5 for Android has removed the ability to delete photos from the camera roll on Android - it did work on V4 before. Why was this functionality removed where all the camera roll images are shown with only view permissions on the phone, but can be deleted etc via a web browser?
We’ve heard the feedback and are going to have the option to control what content shows up in the photos tab in the mobile app. We allow you to change this setting on OneDrive.com today.
Since my post, the latest Android has completely broken the Photo View in that any image (screen shot, WhatsApp etc) with no EXIF data is 'assumed' by the client (Android) to have a creation date of 3/1/1. Images are sorted and viewed correctly on the web and when synced to a PC so the error must reside in the Android App. Is IOS the same?
Same applied for Android. There was a thread over a year ago which seems to have closed. It MUST be possible top be able to select the folders to include in the Photos view (like on the web) so we see actual photos and not every clip anywhere within Onedrive.
Please consider this. Very very annoying to see all my clips etc from the entire Onedrive storage in Photos. Please allow folders to 'include' in the Photos view (which you can do via the web view)
