I support your idea. Unfortunately voting was already closed :-(
An alternative option is to convert MTS files to MP4 files, which are supported. Newer video cameras can store this format natively.
Open source tools such as HandBrake can convert MTS to MP4. You can only convert locally on your PC, so download => convert => upload is needed.
Easiest for now is that your friend creates an own folder and then copies from your folder.
I use folder names 2016-01 for January 2016, 2016-02 for February 2016, and so on. This way an alphabetical sort is always chronologically correct, including across years.
Avoid doing 01-2016, 02-2016 for January and February 2016 because once you start using 01-2017, this will appear in an alphabetical sort before 02-2016 and the chronology will be messed up again.
Note: the system also works with days, provided you add them at the back and always use 2 digits for any day, adding a leading zero for days 1 to 9.
For instance 9 and 10 March 2016 would be 2016-03-09 and 2016-03-10.
Folder names are always considered as alphanumeric, not as numeric. In other words numbers typed are not treated as numbers but as text. The only option is to add leading zeroes. This is also the case for all other systems like Windows, UNIX, etc. If you prefer not to use this I know of no other solution.
This is already possible. On your smartphone see the three dots icon at top right
Thanks for the suggestion. We’ll take a look.
