Thanks for the suggestion. We’re thinking about it, and our supported scenario available today is to use the Universal app or the website where users can access their data in OneDrive and Sharepoint without sync’ing all the files in advance. Don’t forget that Office natively supports opening and editing these files, too!

We’re looking at two related pieces of this:
    1) For OneDrive for Business, enable shared folders to be added to the root of the OneDrive folder at all (like in OneDrive Personal).
    2) For OneDrive across business and personal, enable shared folders to be placed into subfolders.

We appreciate your patience; this is significant engineering work given the architecture of the products and our diverse customer base, spanning individuals to small businesses to multi-national enterprises to government agencies. We aim to address this while maintaining our industry-leading security, privacy, and compliance commitments.

Thank you for the continued feedback.

This can be done but its called "View in File Explorer" and available from the view menu drop down list. If you are looking for a permanent drive mapping solution you could try Zee Drive (a commercial tool) to map SharePoint Online team sites and OneDrive for Business as a network drive http://www.thinkscape.com/Map-Network-Drives-To-Office-365-OneDrive/
