    I'm in a similar boat to you. I installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 update today, which put a folder called ".android" and 10GB (yes) of Android VMs inside my OneDrive folder. Which of course failed to sync. And prompted me to buy more storage.

    There's no viable way of excluding this folder, so I guess I won't be doing any Android development in VS2017 any time soon. Thank you, Microsoft!

    At Ignite, we announced a new setting that will allow admins to exclude new files based on file name pattern or file extension. These files will have a new “excluded” icon. Announcement here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-onedrive-blog/celebrating-the-top-onedrive-moments-from-microsoft-ignite-2020/ba-p/1679821. This feature will be rolling out later this year and we are thinking of expanding it to folders after that.
