This issue is here since more than 2 years now. so we should forget about, and maybe invest 9eur in 'onesync' (autosync for onedrive).
One gui from Tschechoslovakia can do, what Microsoft can not.

We’re looking at two related pieces of this:
    1) For OneDrive for Business, enable shared folders to be added to the root of the OneDrive folder at all (like in OneDrive Personal).
    2) For OneDrive across business and personal, enable shared folders to be placed into subfolders.

We appreciate your patience; this is significant engineering work given the architecture of the products and our diverse customer base, spanning individuals to small businesses to multi-national enterprises to government agencies. We aim to address this while maintaining our industry-leading security, privacy, and compliance commitments.

Thank you for the continued feedback.

@Casey Penk: you ask to tell more how the 'shared with me' files can be organized when syncronized on physical harddrive (or ssd).
Ok. I think a very good solution would be, to make a directory for every person who is sharing files with me, and then the OneDrive sync client should store all synced shared directories 'under' those directoreis.
this would end up to have a directory per person under the ondrive directory.

    This is a must!

But on the other hand thank MS for finally allowing us to sync shared (editor rights) folders; it is a good start to develop OneDrive. From the viewpoint of serious windows users OneDrive is maybe the most important part of Windows. Those people do not care so much about beautiful icons, or idiotíc ideas like building automatic albums, they want to have tools for communication and collaboration.
    So please:
    - make a transparent directory structure for synchronized shared folders (e.g. mainfolder for owner...)
    - bring the possiblity to sync all types of folders in OneDrive (also read only ones)
    - bring back placeholders for 'online only' folders/files in OneDrive
    - do not sync whole file when only tag information has changed (large media files)

    This would be really sexy!
Then you can call this Windows 66!

@Casey Penk: can you give us any update on Progress about sync shared OneDrive files? Because Jason Moore does not give any update although he has promised to give update.

Angus, you gave us your last comment in SEPTEMBER 2014! ???
(I feel very good as a MS customer!)

@Matthew Bonner: oh if you really have the possiblity to raise complaints on a higher level in MS, please please please DO IT!
This OneDrive dev team needs a kick in t.. a.. to wake them up; they are "thinking about it" since sept 2014!!
alalyzing the most (and some very old) user complaints it seems this is the summary what is needed, to repeat from before:
    - make a transparent directory structure for synchronized shared folders (e.g. mainfolder for owner...)
    - bring the possiblity to sync all types of folders in OneDrive (also read only ones)
    - bring back placeholders for 'online only' folders/files in OneDrive
    - do not sync whole file when only tag information has changed (large media files)

    I also support this idea.
Especially with media files it happens very often, that only the tag information is updated, but the content of the media file is still the old one. This is for example when the Music app makes automatic updates from Internet informaton sources ( authors, Artist, Album, Album cover ic, etc etc)

In such case it is not necessary to synchronize the whole file between local storage and remote OneDrive storage!

Hi, can you tell us more about what you’re looking for? Have you seen the suggestion for shared / co-owned folders? Is that what you’re looking for? Thank you.
