    This is urgently needed.
There used to be the (French) Hubic sync service by OVH which had a great feature:
It allowed to right click on ANY folder on the PC and Backup to the Cloud. You also had the option for file versioning to be hourly, daily, weekly with unlimited versioning!
At least give me unlimited file versioning! Sometimes it takes ages that you realize a file was overwritten, especially on media files!

Diesen Feature request gibt es bereits. Einfach nach LAN sync suchen und lieber dort abstimmen. Is wesentlich höher in der Liste.

It is implemented now. No need to vote on it anymore.

For others setting up a new Laptop/ PC:
Copy the stuff from the old PC to the New PC. Only afterwards setup OneDrive.
OneDrive will compare contents and will realize content is the same and will not re-download the content.
Still would be nice if this could be done automatically by OneDrive.

    Same here:
3 computer on a common upload bandwidth of 50Kbyte/ sec.
Uploading Videos and Pictures from the weekends sometimes takes days... (Especially since I have other cloud services also uploading as redundancy. So take this at 25kB/s! On large data I often have to pause the other cloud service)
Until this data is uploaded they cannot be downloaded by the other PCs. Especially the wifes PC which make for unhappy Wife..
    You know the saying:
    Happy Wife, Happy Life
    Make my life happy :-)

    Still a problem.
Voting is closed, but has it been submitted to Microsoft?
Is MS working on this at all?
    As many have said:
Disabling the check would work for most. I mean, they still can pop-up a warning about too little space, but at least give me an enabled OK button!

We agree 100% with the suggestion and are exploring ways to enable this. This represents a significant amount of engineering work hence we don’t have a schedule to share yet.

There IS a solution using Symlinks.
I use these nowadays quite a fair bit to overcome all these stupid limitations of the various cloud services.
Simply create a Symlink that points to your OneDrive Personal within your OneDrive for Business folder. (Search for it on the web, I am using the free software "Symlink creator" which makes it easy and does not require any DOS entry).
    What happens:
OneDrive personal dumps the files into the Picture folders on OneDrive personal. Since the Symlink in your Business OneDrive thinks this is "his" folder, it will also be automatically be uploaded to the OneDrive for Business account. The benefit of this solution is clear: No extra space needed. The operating systems thinks that the pictures are at 2 locations.
    Word of caution:
Of course anything you do in one folder, also happens in the other! It really is just ONE copy of the file(s) even so they appear in 2 locations!
