We are focused on performance of the client across various scenarios: new files, file edits, initial sync. We’ve made numerous improvements over the course of the past year and have additional work planned in this area.

Not done a speed comparison recently of OneDrive but it doesn't feel that much worse than Google Drive. But in general, all the cloud storage systems feel a little slow sometimes.

We’re currently validating the 64-bit version of OneDrive internally. We have not yet started rolling it out to public rings. Stayed tuned for more info soon!

We don’t have a timeline yet but it’s still on our radar.

Another +1 for LAN sync. I use OneDrive to synchronise a large deployment folder contains software installers, inc. Office 365 ODT files for semi-annual, semi-annual targeted and monthly. They add up to several GB. Many installers have to copied to local hard drive as many of them are not-cloud storage aware and therefore on-demand doesn't really help.

Needless to say Dropbox and Google Drive which I also use does not suffer from this bug. It's a fundamental design issue IMO (speaking as a programmer)

We’re thinking about this for our future planning but don’t have specifics to share yet.

I've just posted something similar myself on here (hint - allow one to sort search results on uservoice by popularity). Attempting to use the recycle bin for anything except a couple of recently deleted files is painful. In fact, most users simply give up. A search/filter with date range would be a start.

I cannot believe that 2.5 years later that this is STILL a huge flaw in OneDrive. Because I'm aware of this bug, on my dev system, I synchronise my OneDrive folder to my server so that when I happen to boot up an old VM or restore the VM for my dev environment, OneDrive doesn't merrily restore itself to an ancient copy. Just done it again today when I restored a snapshot in VMware Workstation. Bang! OneDrive assumed it was the master and deleted all the recent files. I document it here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_onedrivefb-mso_win10/very-big-flaw-in-onedrive/a14c500f-ebae-47a8-8065-c8b5d8c3ad19
