We are based in Hong Kong and we also have an issue where some EML files can't be previewed in OneDrive for Business or SharePoint, we get an error "Hmmm.. looks like this file doesn't have a preview we can show you". We had a support ticket opened with Microsoft and they explained that those email contains characters that are not currently supported by email to pdf convertor and that is the reason they are not generating a preview.
The character from below mentioned languages are not supported.
1. Chinese
2.Japanese
3.Korean
4.Arabic
They said there's no ETA or information available as of now that when it will be supported in the future. This is a by designed behavior which as of now could not be changed. We're very frustrated with this response and the whole approach of generating a preview for EML files. Why even convert to PDF? EML files could be easily previewed in a browser. Besides, we can see a tiny preview in the document info pane, so why not use the same preview but bigger?
Our users very unhappy that they need to download every email to look at its content.
If we share with a O365 group, we can see what's shared in the group's "Shared with us" view on the group site. The important thing that's missing is the same view when accessing group files from OneDrive interface.
