If I send a link to a client, I want a simple link that doesn't show my username, company and filepath. Google does this perfectly. Without sharing unnecessary data.
If I'm sharing a link within my company, that's another matter.

Username, filepath, company name, not to mention that sheer unwieldly length of the link. Absolutely shockingly bad experience. Aside from anything, it's sharing unnecessary data and presents a minor security risk.

In this GDPR world, we are always encrypting data but Excel Online can't deal with it. It doesn't even give the option to download instead of opening.

I've just found out how useful this would be. I have to encrypt user data but OneDrive share links try to open them in Excel Online. Which it can't do because they're encrypted.

Update: We’re rolling out the ability to see who viewed your files on the File Card on OneDrive for Business. You can hover over a file on the web to get to this. Let us know what you think!

So this! This is particularly an issue with encrypted Office documents which will not open in Office Online, but unless you're logged into Office Online you don't get the option to download - see screengrab.
This makes it next to impossible to transfer encrypted (eg GDPR compliant) files to anyone who isn't logged into Microsoft's system.
PLEASE create a "Download Only" option on Share links.
