I have to agree. One of the best features of the platform is the ability to add storage space, then Android, Samsung, and Microsoft go and cripples it with restrictions
I would be happy with being able to put the offline files on the SD card of my Samsung Tab E. Not sure if the app being preinstalled is part of the problem. Can't move it to the SD card and there is no way to give permission to OneDrive to write there. This ends up being a problem for OneNote too.
We shipped support for installing the OneDrive app on an SD card, but any files taken offline still go to internal storage. We do have plan to enable offline files to be stored on SD card. I’ll update status as we get further along.
OneDrive and by default OneNote, can't store offline files on the SD card of my Samsung Tab E. Other Office products have the ability to give permission to write to the SD card so it seems the OneDrive folks need to catch up. I hope this gets fixed. I can't believe developers at Samsung and Android hate their customers so much they make using the SD card so difficult. Makes you think they wish they worked for Apple.
