We’re looking at two related pieces of this:
1) For OneDrive for Business, enable shared folders to be added to the root of the OneDrive folder at all (like in OneDrive Personal).
2) For OneDrive across business and personal, enable shared folders to be placed into subfolders.
We appreciate your patience; this is significant engineering work given the architecture of the products and our diverse customer base, spanning individuals to small businesses to multi-national enterprises to government agencies. We aim to address this while maintaining our industry-leading security, privacy, and compliance commitments.
Thank you for the continued feedback.Josh Cameron commented

We're looking to migrate from Exchange on-premise to something in the cloud. This has to be fixed if we're going to choose 365 over G-suite.
Last week we announced a new feature called Personal Vault that will be available soon for OneDrive consumer accounts. See this blog post for more details.
We have no plans to bring Personal Vault to our Commercial customers at this time, but continue to make investments in advanced security features that are unique to the Commercial service.

We announced differential sync at the SharePoint Conference in May. We’ve already rolled it out to our OneDrive personal users and plan to roll it out to the rest of our users by end of this year. See this blog post for more details: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-OneDrive-Blog/OneDrive-announcements-SharePoint-Conference-2019/ba-p/616047.
Wanted to provide an update here: this is something we’re planning on doing, but don’t have a timeframe to share yet
